Mikvah
Mikvah
The Mikvah facility is located in a private enclosed area at the rear of
the Synagogue building, and has a preparation area and waiting room, and a large
well-maintained mikvah. The mikvah is available seven days a week, by
appointment, for women or men, for all ritual immersions. Call 964-1928 for an
appointment. The phone is monitored frequently, and trained volunteers assist if
she is not available.
The mikvah, which has been renovated to meet the strictest requirements of
halacha, Jewish law, serves the entire community, not just the membership of the
Synagogue. The Stamford Community Mikvah Committee actively works to fund and
promote improvements to the mikvah, and a significant expansion and improvement
project is currently planned. The Mikvah Committee also acts as a community
liaison, and sends out educational and informational mailings. A library of
books, pamphlets and videos is available for lending to the interested.
The Mikvah Committee has several fund-raising projects in the works,
including Holiday projects and sales of holiday foods. The committee's
chairperson is: Maria Reicin.
